This recipe i learnt from one of the greatest chef of United States. There are many popular hamburger like Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheeseburger, Hamburger, Chicken Sandwich burger and so on.
I already tried to making this easy and delicious homemade hamburger helper and other snacks so many times, when there was a guest at my home. And they had amaizing reaction on it. Thus, i hope you surely like it. Let’s begin.
For making this Homemade Hamburger Helper, here are all the ingredients which you should required. Also the estimated time to make it is around 35 minutes in total.
Homemade Hamburger Helper Ingredients
- 1/2 lb (225g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (240ml) beef broth
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
- 1 cup (240ml) milk
- 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups (150g) elbow macaroni (or any pasta shape you prefer)
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- Optional: 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream for a creamier texture
After you gather and arrange all these ingredients, here is the step by step instruction for making your hamburger helper, one of the masterpiece.
Firstly prepare the ingredients like, fine chop onion and mince the garlic and also you can shred the cheddar cheese.

Cook the Ground Beef
- Bring the large skillet and heat it with 1 tbsp of olive oil in medium heat.
- Now add the ground beef and stir it with spatula and cook it until it colored browned.
- Then after 5-7 minutes cooking, you can season with salt and pepper.
2. Cook the vegetables
- You can transfer the ground beef to another bowl and use the same bowl now to cook the chopped onion with adding 1 tbsp of olive oil until 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook it for more 1-2 minutes in medium flame until it started to fragrant.
3. Combine the All Ingredients
- Now again put the cooked ground beef to the sillet and add the tomato paste and diced cut tomatoes, paprika, chilli powder and dried oregano. Stir and mix it well.
- Again add the beef broth and milk and stir it well.
4. Add the Pasta
- Now you can bring the mixture to a boil and then add the pasta (Whichever you like).
- And now reduce the heat to low and simmer it with cover for about 10-12 minutes until it became tender. But remember to stir occsionally to prevent sticking.
5. Final Mix and Serve
- When the pasta is cooked, then stir the shredded cheddar cheese until it melted and mixed it perfectly.
- Yoo can add some heavy cream if you like to make more creamy texture and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Now you are ready to serve this hot, garnished with additional shredded cheese or you add more herbs if you want. Let’s Enjoy!
