Recognizing after all which one should not go hand in hand means ensuring that your digestion is well kept as well as being in good general health. Here are some conventional foods mixtures that are unhealthy for consumption.

1. Fruit After Meals

Fruits require a short digestion period, they should be consumed when the stomach is empty, when eaten after meals they will stay in the stomach along with other foods that take longer to digest and begin to ferment hence producing gas.

Example: Don’t eat apples, oranges or berries after eating high protein or carbohydrate meal.

2. Protein and Starch rich (Potatoes, Bread)

Different digestive enzymes are required by proteins (including meat) and starches (including potatoes or bread). An acidic environment is needed for proteins and an alkaline one is necessary for starches. The digestion may be inefficient and may cause some discomfort.

Example: Steak with mashed potatoes or chicken sandwiches could be dangerous if you consumed together frequently.

3. Milk and Citrus

Milk is rich in protein and calcium, and when it mixed with citrus fruits, the acid from the fruits can cause the milk to curdle, which cause lead to indigestion.

Example: Do not take milk together with oranges, lemons and grapefruits in form of smoothies.

5. Beans and Cheese

Beans and cheese are both rich in proteins and fats, thus are heavy when digested. When both are consumed, their combination slows down the bowel system significantly thus causing a bloated stomach.

Example: You should avoid at all costs casseroles with beans that are cheesy, or chilies topped off with cheese.

Example: Spaghetti marinara or pizza could end up causing you pain from acid reflux if overeaten.

8. Water with Meals

During meals, if water is drunk it will be mixed with the acid secreted by the stomach this being the reason for low digestion as well as consumption from nutrient of foods.

Example: Drinking water is encouraged around thirty minutes before or after meals but not during the meal.

9. Alcohol with High-Protein Meals

Why to Avoid: Alcohol can make digestion move slowly and it can also make protein coagulate hence making it harder to digest and thus increasing the liver’s job.

Example: Avoid specific kinds of heavy meals with steak or lamb such as a large amount of wine or beer.

10. Pizza and soda

Expample: We should not eat Pizza with soda like Fanta, Mountain Dew and 7UP.

11. Beans and Red Wine

If you’re on a vegetarian diet or lack iron in your body. You might be tempted to take red wine or coffee or just have some chocolate for your own benefit. It is believed by registered dietitian nutritionist that these tannins do not allow iron to get absorbed.

This is especially noticeable among plant sources like beans, green vegetables with dark foliage and cereal grains. Careful, and don’t drink red wine when eating your black bean salad.

Example: It would be better if you avoid to take Beans and Red Wine at the same time.

12. Spinach and Dairy Products

Are you a fan of creamed spinach or spanakopita? You should stop eating spinach with various dairy products. Oxalates are these tiny compounds which bind together with calcium and thus prevent it from being ingested.

Example: Spinach with Tofu, Paneer and Milk.
