Best Places to visit in your short weekend time in United States

Dear Readers, If you are bored and fed up with just, sitting at you home, drinking and not other exciting activities, then come out from the door with a simple backpack. Today, i’m going to share the best places and cities for you to visit within 2 to 3 days.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

In recent years, Santa Fe has sprung up like an oasis in the Aussie bush, offering a bonzer mix of top-notch tucker, art, culture, and natural beauty nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Known as “The City Different,” this gem of New Mexico is a buzzing creative hotspot; just check out the wild installations at Meow Wolf, the Museum of International Folk Art, the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, and the iconic Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. (You might even reckon that a quick trip to Bandelier National Monument or a wander through the turquoise treasures at Wind River could be just as ripper.)

But it’s not just the sights that’ll blow your socks off—Santa Fe’s also a goldmine for scrumptious nibbles. And we’re not just talking about those famous Hatch chilies (although they’re a must-try, especially on a burger at Shake Foundation or sprinkled over fair dinkum Tex-Mex at spots like Tia Sophia’s, Palacio Café, and The Pink Adobe). And let’s not forget the grog—this place supposedly birthed the margarita, after all. Swing by Maria’s New Mexican Kitchen, with its 60-year history and over 200 varieties on offer. Bloody ripper!

Boise, Idaho

Boise prides itself on being a mix of rugged and refined, a city you’d love to share a coldie with. And honestly, who could argue? This place has the lot: mountains, a ripper river, heaps of trails; 20 wineries right in town (and over 65 nearby); crafty taphouses and breweries all over downtown; and over 200 days of sunshine a year, making everything from summer paddle boarding to winter skiing a real beaut time.

Chuck in the Basque Block—home to the Basque Museum & Cultural Center and spots like The Basque Market dishing up Spanish-style nibbles and vino—and the Boise Fry Company, where you can scoff down the state’s iconic spuds in fry-form with a range of homemade seasonings and sauces, and you’ll understand why Boise is a bit of an unexpected (albeit, quirky) foodie hotspot. And if that’s not enough, there’s the biggest open-air mural gallery in the northwest, Freak Alley Gallery, and hiking and biking trails galore not far from downtown—and, if you’re keen for nature right on your doorstep, the Boise River, flowing through the city center, is a top spot for kayakers, tubers, and rafters alike.

Bozeman, Montana

If you’re keen for a dose of quality time with Mother Nature—where the early riser scores the goods, and your vibes are more about natural beauty than skyscraper views—Bozeman’s your ticket. As the gateway to Yellowstone and a quick jaunt from Glacier National Park, you’ve got a full plate of epic outdoor adventures waiting. Dive into some natural hot springs to unwind. Trek the same trails as legends like Louis, Clark, and Sacagawea (plus, the odd dinosaur!). And don’t even think about leaving nature’s embrace, ’cause the whole of Montana’s like one big, beautiful campsite.

Sure, downtown might be pint-sized—you could mosey through the lot in under 30 minutes—but it’s chockers with top-notch eateries. Swing by Jam!, Plonk, Montana Ale Works, and Roost Fried Chicken for a feed that’ll leave you as full as a bear prepping for hibernation.

Washington DC

Believe it or not, a ton has shifted in the District since those middle school field trip days. Not only have the Capitals, Nationals, Mystic, DC United, and Spirit clinched national championships (no small feat), but the city itself has evolved into an even more captivating weekend hotspot, thanks to an explosion of top-notch bars and eateries, hotels, neighborhoods, green spaces, and, of course, cultural spots. It’s also incredibly pedestrian-friendly, and autumn—when the muggy humidity fades, the crowds thin out, and winter’s chill hasn’t quite settled—is prime time to revel in DC’s offerings.

Nestle yourself at the politically astute Hong Kong-inspired joint, the Eaton Workshop, conveniently situated on K Street, just a skip away from the National Mall and its myriad attractions—assuming you manage to pry yourself away from its chic premises (the lobby-level speakeasy, Allegory, is a real temptation). After soaking up some liquid inspiration, hit the streets in search of more intellectual stimulation at revamped museums like the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the National Museum of the American Indian (don’t overlook the fantastic onsite café), the National Air and Space Museum, and the immersive International Spy Museum.

Orlando, Florida

The capital of theme parks garners plenty of attention for its globally renowned attractions such as Walt Disney World. While this alone makes Orlando an enticing destination for a lengthy weekend getaway (it’s practically every child’s fantasy, isn’t it?), Central Florida offers far more than just adrenaline-pumping rides. Downtown Orlando, once reliant on cattle and citrus in the 1800s, now boasts acclaimed chefs, a vibrant music scene, and top-tier cultural venues like the acoustically flawless Dr. Phillips Center, hosting Broadway sensations like Hamilton.

Embark on a culinary journey through locally owned establishments like Papa Llama, blending Peruvian cuisine with a natural wine bar experience (try their “shroom,” a tantalizing wild mushroom stir-fry); Sushi Lola’s, a Japanese-Korean fusion spot serving up “lava dips,” deep-fried, panko-crusted krab salad; and Prato, an Italian gem nestled in the upscale Winter Park (home to Rollins College), where you’ll encounter unexpected delights like cacio e pepe infused with pepper Dijon mustard.

For outdoor adventures, head to Southern Hill Farms for blueberry picking at this family-owned orchard or explore the scenic Rock Springs Run with a kayaking trip from King’s Landing. Even in the heart of downtown, you can enjoy a leisurely ride on a swan-shaped paddle boat (cheesy, yet charming) on Lake Eola, home to actual swans, as well as live concerts and movies at the Walt Disney Amphitheater. And let’s not forget about the burgeoning craft beer scene, with numerous microbreweries cropping up over the past decade (check out Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. and Park Pizza & Brewing Co. for some stellar options).

New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans offers everything you could desire for the most exhilarating three days of your life. It’s the ultimate city in America for leisurely walks, whether meandering with a beverage in hand along the lamp-lit cobblestones of the French Quarter or strolling past the grand residences of the Garden District. You’ll encounter historical architecture, canopies of live oak trees, and musicians serenading on nearly every corner. When it comes to ambiance, the Crescent City reigns supreme.

There’s no shame in indulging in frozen daiquiris on Bourbon Street or hopping between Jazz Clubs on Frenchmen, but it’s worthwhile to explore beyond the typical tourist spots. Lose yourself in the eerie maze of Lafayette Cemetery in the Garden District, explore the vibrant shops and eateries along Magazine Street, and visit any number of top-notch bars and restaurants for delectable cuisine that will leave you in a state of blissful satisfaction. The welcoming locals are enthusiastic about showcasing their city to deserving visitors: Show respect and open-mindedness, consider opting for a hotel or bed and breakfast instead of an Airbnb, and under no circumstances speak ill of the Saints.
